The project's objectives are to examine and identify the driving factors behind innovation, in particular those arising from the requirements of industry. It will allow the practical implementation of new methodologies developed under the project, instilling good practices into national and regional innovation policies. The project focuses on an identification of all potential innovators in society, from school children to advanced research laboratories. The cycle of emerging innovation will be integrated with the requirements of industry at every phase, allowing the promotion of public-private partnerships. In addition, the project aims to point out perspectives for technological innovation in every region, guiding and enhancing innovation culture in Europe.

The aim of the project is to develop mobile robotics platforms with an advanced, navigation component based on accurate positioning and 3D measurement technology. The task of the platform will also be to transport disabled people around airports, which provide an environment which is structured but characterized by shifting conditions. The key issue is the application of a navigation system operating in real time and allowing the presence and position of objects in the robot.s operating space to be identified.
